Video Clip Song Remix Project
You will need to find a movie or TV show clip that you want to use and you will be creating a Remix song based on the dialog in that clip. Each song must be a a minimum of 30 seconds long. The 'lyrics" must make sense and you will need some kind of chorus that is clear to your audience. You will need to add sound effects, loops, and background music with a minimum of 3 tracks at all times.
You will only be creating the song and not the video like in the example. Once you have finished work on this project, save the .BAND file and name it firstname + lastname + period# Remix. Using the Share menu on GarageBand, export the file with MP3 encoding and name it the same thing. You will turn these files into the Scales. |

Mashup Song Project
For this project, you will need to find at least 10+ songs that have are important to you at this time in your life and using pieces of them, you will splice them up and use these clips to create a NEW song that’s represents you. Your new song must be at least 90 seconds long.
We will be using Adobe Audition to edit our audio in this class. Start by watching the Audition CC Getting Started Guide Video found to the right. ---------------> Using Audition you will be editing your clips together in order to make your mash up sound as seamless as possible. You should have a lot of song clips and cuts, at least 25-30. Make sure you normalize your song, keeping all of your volume levels at the same DB (Decibel Output). All songs/content must be PG. Would you play this for your grandmother? If there is language that needs to be edited out, you MUST do so. Any songs that have inappropriate language won’t be graded and you will receive a 0. Make sure all of the songs are of high quality (high bit-rate) sound quality. Once you have finished this project, save the Audition file and name it last name + firstname + period# + Mashup then export the file with MP3 encoding and name it the same thing. You will turn only the exported file into the Scales. |

PSA (Public Service Announcement)
You will be creating a Public Service Announcement to help the community. First you need to read How to Write a PSA. You will need to start with a topic and some research to plan your commercial. You will be creating a 30 second PSA commercial. You will write your PSA script and turn these in before recording. Next you will record your dialogue into Garageband. Additional sounds and editing must be added throughout to create a full 40 seconds, but be careful to not overwhelm your message. LESS is MORE. Speak clearly and do multiple takes in order to get a good recording.
Once you have finished work on this project, save the .BAND file and name it last name + first name + period# + PSATopic (Your topic, not the word Topic). Using the Share menu on GarageBand, export the file with MP3 encoding and name it the same thing. You will turn these files into the Scales. |
